Mission
We design sustainable gardens for the shear joy of participating in the healthy, regenerative culture of life’s creations. We believe in the powerful connections of people and place. Gardens inspire us to care for the earth, and ourselves.

About
Living Gardens formed in a spirit of collaboration, with a vision for blending conventional, tested landscape techniques with progressive design methods that are appropriate for your site. To be considered sustainable, we strive to instill internal business practices that reflect our external services. We consider all aspects of localization, transportation, communication, and materials when making decisions. We strive to become better stewards of the earth as we travel through our days with you.

Scott Schultze
Little did I know that the farm I grew up on in Nebraska would be the catalyst for my profession today. My passion for gardening and landscaping stemmed from the farm and progressed into the University of Nebraska Lincoln where I received my degree in Horticulture with an emphasis in landscape design. While in school, I worked on organic farms and sat on the organic farm certification committee. After graduating school I worked in the landscape industry and on organic farms in Europe and South America. My school, work and travel helped evolve my ideals and knowledge into an idea that I believe will create a positive solution to our traditional landscapes.

The last five years have been an incredible journey into community organizing, permaculture, placemaking, earth democracy, ecological education, and whole-systems design. I hold a Master’s of Education in Ecology, Culture and Learning, as well as a certificate in Permaculture and Teaching. I am passionate about connecting with earthly cycles, and what could be better than communing with the living world in the places we spend the most time? I truly love this work, as well as the opportunity to share visions of our future with new friends. This includes helping make your dreams for edible gardens, native scapes, and places to gather and share as abundant, thriving and fruitful as possible.
